Emergency services rush to rescue woman who fell 10 metres down Point Arkwright cliff

A rescue chopper has been called after a woman received ‘potentially life-threatening’ injuries in a 10m fall down a seaside cliff on the Sunshine Coast.

A rescue chopper has been called following a dramatic rescue after a woman fell 10m at a popular seaside cliff on the Sunshine Coast.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said firefighters were called to Point Arkwright in Yaroomba at 11.37am.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed the woman had been rescued and was with their crews on scene getting ready to be taken to hospital.

She said the woman had suffered potentially life-threatening injuries including abrasions, bruises, pelvic pain, and potentially a chest injury.

It is understood she was taken to hospital via ambulance and the rescue helicopter left the scene soon after.

The QFD spokeswoman earlier said one crew arrived at 11.40am and two other crews were en route.

She said the person had fallen about 10m down a cliff.

The QFD spokeswoman earlier said crews were making a plan to access her and that it would require a technical rescue with a rope.

Queensland Police Service were also on scene.
