A Caloundra drug addict and supplier was sentenced for 50 charges including forging 13 medical certificates to avoid attending court as a bailee.

The 20-year-old woman, by the name of Kaitlin Hawkins, appeared in custody in Maroochydore Magistrates Court when she pleaded guilty to the raft of offences including fraud, forgery, breaching bail and stealing.

The offending occurred between November 9, 2020 and August 24, 2020.

The court heard Hawkins stole keys from a motel on July 29, 2021, and she was also found with a knife, methamphetamine and utensils in her possession.

Hawkins received 12 months imprisonment in relation to supplying drugs in September, 2021.

Solicitor Alan Phillips said his client was in a “drug deluded” state when she forged the medical certificates to avoid turning up to sign in as a bailee.

Magistrate Rodney Madsen said Hawkins had “lots of problems” and sentenced her to six months imprisonment, but kept her parole eligibility date the same.

“(You) threatened the integrity of the system that the community relies upon,” he said.

Hawkins will be eligible for parole on January 1, 2022.
