Lifesaving legend Darren Mercer is eagerly anticipating a special debut with daughter Jordan on the national stage having already enjoyed a successful dip at the Aussies.
Mercer charged to silver in the 50-54 year olds board race and bronze in the board rescue during the masters divisions of the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships on Sunday.

The former Australian ironman and Coolangatta Gold champion has savoured the Sunshine Coast Aussies.
"It's awesome," he said.
"It's so good to have that local Aussies - they're so few and far between.
"I'm really enjoying it, I've been here all weekend with the youth and now the masters and then obviously through the rest of the week with the opens.
"I love it, I really enjoy it and to still be going around now and from all those years ago.
"My mum and dad, John and Maureen, are here to watch and they still love it. It's a great atmosphere and a great venue too."
While he's been competing in the masters division, which wraps up on Monday, the Noosa Heads coach is eyeing up a competitive debut with daughter Jordan in the open division which runs from Tuesday to Saturday.
He'll hit the water in the mixed double ski with her.
"That's going to be fun," he said.
"She sort of put it to me and I was a bit hesitant, but now I'm looking forward to it.
"It'll be the first time we've actually been able to race together, and it's in an open event so it'll be good.
"I know either way the result goes it'll just be good to get in there and have a paddle."
Alexandra Headland's Marilyn Clarence delivered an impressive three gold medals for her local club during the masters, taking out the 65-69 year olds ironwoman, surf ski and board races.
