Cotton Tree real estate agent, Baydn Dodds, said the beachside area was experiencing popularity among older retirees looking for high-end low-maintenance homes.

“With the aging population there has been a shift, they are moving towards high amenity locations where they’ve got walkability to services,” Mr Dodds said.

“Developers are catering for that demand, for larger, higher-end apartments.”

According to local real estate agent, Baydn Dodds, high-end unit developments remained in high demand post-covid.

Mr Dodds said the post-covid coastal property boom was still going strong in suburbs such as Cotton Tree.

“There is definitely higher demand than what there was, that has emerged post-covid, people are really looking to live somewhere nice,” he said.

Mr Dodds said the demand for high-end apartments can be seen across Maroochydore, where just outside Cotton Tree, on Duporth Ave, property developer Mosaic sold an apartment for more than $7m.

According to the property listing the Nature penthouse will be move-in ready by September this year.
