The final unit in a multi-million dollar luxury development in an up-and-coming beachside suburb as been snapped up for more than $4.5m.
The penthouse in the Nature development at Cotton Tree sold on May 8, making it the final unit in the eight-storey development to leave the market.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom penthouse, equipped with an expansive private balcony, sold for $4.6m.
The high-end project by Cube Developments, located at number 49 The Esplanade, is set to feature a private dining area, yoga space and a 20 metre lap pool, according to the property listing.
“Beneath the sculptural undercroft, you’ll find a secluded 20-metre lap pool, gym, steam room and sauna, communal BBQ area and yoga space, plus a private dining area for residents and their guests,” the property listing stated.
“Offering expansive and panoramic frontage view over the Maroochy River and out to the ocean. A secure lift carries you directly into your home, opening onto a private entryway.”
Cotton Tree real estate agent, Baydn Dodds, said the beachside area was experiencing popularity among older retirees looking for high-end low-maintenance homes.
“With the aging population there has been a shift, they are moving towards high amenity locations where they’ve got walkability to services,” Mr Dodds said.
“Developers are catering for that demand, for larger, higher-end apartments.”
Mr Dodds said the post-covid coastal property boom was still going strong in suburbs such as Cotton Tree.
“There is definitely higher demand than what there was, that has emerged post-covid, people are really looking to live somewhere nice,” he said.
Mr Dodds said the demand for high-end apartments can be seen across Maroochydore, where just outside Cotton Tree, on Duporth Ave, property developer Mosaic sold an apartment for more than $7m.
According to the property listing the Nature penthouse will be move-in ready by September this year.
