An extra week wait didn’t deter crowds from turning out in force for the Caloundra Cup race day with punters and the snappy dressed soaking up all the festivities trackside.
The race day, one of the Sunshine Coast Turf Club’s major annual meets, was originally scheduled for July 3 but was postponed a week to Sunday after heavy rain affected the track.
The nine-race metropolitan card featured the Group 3 Winx Guineas, Listed Glasshouse Handicap and Listed Caloundra Cup.
The Joseph Pride-trained Stockman took out the Caloundra Cup, the Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr)-trained Our Playboy won the Winx Guineas and the Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained King Of Hastings took out the Glasshouse Handicap.
Among the crowd enjoying the races was Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
