The Sunshine Coast community has embraced a Coolum Beach family, banding together to help them in a time of need.
Allyce Cunningham, 32, suffers from an intellectual disability and finding her a place to call home has been extremely difficult for her parents Linda and Rex.
With Allyce not wanting to stay anywhere overnight, they had the idea to build a unit complex to attach to the downstairs of their house.

The idea was short lived after minimal funding, numerous submissions and mountains of paperwork weren't enough to get the National Disability Insurance Scheme to assist.
Linda Cunningham, 58, said through word of mouth and community generosity the idea spread and they were able to build, refurbish and create a safe housing plan for Allyce and her needs.
"It's absolutely amazing what's happened right before our eyes," she said.
"We've had people donating along with numerous community groups such as the Coolum Lions Club, Coolum Men's Shed, Rally for a Cause and a number of tradesmen reach out and help us out."
Ms Cunningham said that the unit also meant that Allyce's living situation was a long-term fix.
"We're quite positive that this will suit her and that really puts us at ease knowing she will be somewhere for an extended period of time," she said.
Fiona Moseley has been a driving force behind the project and Ms Cunningham said none of this would've been possible without her continuous support.
"Fiona really was a shining light through all of this and it's really amazing what she's achieved and how much she has helped us out," she said.
"We definitely couldn't have accomplished this alone and that's a huge credit to everyone who has given us a moment of their time.
"We look at it all and think it's a dream because we're in shock of what's happened and how many people have lent a hand."
