Coast restaurants shine in state's top 100 list

A plethora of Sunshine Coast eateries have cemented their status among the state's best with inclusion in The Sunday Mail's Delicious 100 list of 2018.

A PLETHORA of Sunshine Coast eateries have cemented their status among the state's best with inclusion in The Sunday Mail's Delicious 100 list of 2018.

Noosa Heads restaurant Season came in at number 98, the lowest-ranked of the Coast's inclusions.

Others to sneak in at the tail end of the 100 were Embassy XO (92), Sails (90) and Noosa Beach House (84).

Pier 33, a Hamptons-style, modern Australian restaurant which opened at the old Mooloolaba yacht club site, was a newcomer in this year's list.

It came in at number 81, in a massive endorsement of the popular new venue.

Locale Noosa (78), Spirit House (71), Sumi Open Kitchen (69), Harry's On Buderim (65), Bistro C (58), Sum Yung Guys (41), Thomas Corner Eatery (39), Spice Bar (37) and Noosa Waterfront (34) were all well recognised.

The region's top performers in 2018 were Rickys River Bar and Restaurant (18), The Long Apron (17), Wasabi (14) and Yoyo Bar and Restaurant (12).

The list was compiled by a panel of experts who travelled the state scouring the regions for the finest dining experiences, whether they were at established restaurants or more casual eateries.
