A LEADING Coast aged care manager has claimed a national award for his contribution to the industry.
Regis Sippy Downs facility manager Gary Holland won the 2018 award for Outstanding Safety Contribution at the Regis Aged Care's Annual National Awards held in Melbourne last Friday.
Mr Holland was selected from the more than 8000 employees that work in the the 63 facilities, Regis owns nationally.
The Outstanding Safety Contribution Award recognises team members with a strong commitment and resourcefulness in improving workplace health and safety.
Mr Holland introduced 'Safety Pledges' to Sippy Downs, encouraging his team members to pledge their commitment to receiving catch and call feedback about their safety behaviours, as well as their team members.
Regis Executive General Manager for Queensland, New South Wales and Northern Territory Michelle Baker said Mr Holland had a strong commitment to building safety awareness across Regis.
"Gary (and his team's) initiative is a great safety reinforcement,” she said.
"It creates conversation starters with residents and families - another level of positive safety behavioural implementation.”
The Regis National Awards recognises the combined skills, energy and efforts of its staff in 13 different categories and encourages excellence and outstanding performance in line with business objectives and values.
