Sunshine Coast Kismet Tonic & Espresso owner to recreate success of Greenhouse Cafe

After opening and cashing in on a thriving cafe on the Sunshine Coast, a successful businesswoman is now back with a new venue. Check out her new venture.

The brains behind a cult favourite cafe in Caloundra has revealed her next move as she aims to replicate her success in a growing hinterland town.

Kismet Tonic and Espresso is a medicinal tonic and organic espresso bar along Conn St, Yandina that opened early this year, serving coffee, vegetarian bites, and mushroom tonics.

Kismet Tonic and Espresso founder Georgia Pearson, 41, said she wanted her new cafe to mirror the success of vegetarian and organic cafe Greenhouse Cafe in Caloundra, which she founded and owned between 2013 and 2016.

She said people “lined up” for her former cafe’s healthy, meat-free menu.

Ms Pearson said her new cafe was well on its way to success with revenue rising 20 per cent each month since launching as locals, groups, and out-of-towners flocked to the new, alternative venue.

Ms Pearson said one of her cafe’s biggest attractions was its focus on serving both coffee and non-caffeinated options given “there’s a lot of people who can’t have caffeine”.

‘That’s definitely our point of difference,” she said.

The successful business woman said she opened the new venture because she wanted a cafe under her wing again and to create a casual space for the community to socialise following prolonged disconnection during Covid-19.

“[It’s] to bring people back together,” she said.

She said another competitive edge for her business was its focus on giving customers a consistent warm welcome.

“A lot of hospitality has lost that,” she said.

While she wouldn’t reveal a pin point location, Ms Pearson said she was already working on expanding and opening a second location on the Coast.
