Revealed: Plans for state-of-the-art Noosa hospital development
Australia’s largest day hospital group will open its third Sunshine Coast facility in Noosa, bringing three new operating theatres and 60 jobs to the region by mid-2026.
A hospital giant has announced a ‘state-of-the-art’ facility that promises to offer a range of surgical specialties on the Sunshine Coast.
Three operating rooms will provide services across a range of specialties: ophthalmology, general surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, gastroenterology, and orthopaedic surgery.
The Noosa-based facility is the 38th hospital to be developed by Cura Day Hospitals Group (Cura).
Cura’s chief executive officer, Peter Freeleagus, said its theatres were equipped with the latest technology.
“The new multidisciplinary hospital will feature three state-of-the-art operating theatres which are equipped with the latest surgical technology and supported by modern recovery and patient care,” he said.
It will be the third Cura Hospital on the Sunshine Coast.
They also own Sunshine Coast Day Surgery in Maroochydore and Kawana Private Hospital.
Mr Freeleagus said the hospital would ease the demand for hospitals.
“We are really excited to have found this space within the Noosa Health Precinct building,” he said.
“This new hospital reflects Cura’s ongoing commitment to investing in sustainable, high-quality hospitals in areas of growing demand.”
The hospital expects to create 60 new jobs across administrative and health care roles.
Hospital furnishing will begin in the next few weeks, with an expected opening in mid-2026.
