REVEALED: Best hair colourist on the Sunshine Coast

Hair-obsessed residents have decided and named a top hairdresser as the best colourist on the Sunshine Coast.

Jayde Agudo and Kartie Martin from Big Deal Hair have been voted as the local hairdressers who do the best colour.

HAIR-OBSESSED Sunshine Coast residents have decided and named a Buderim hairdresser as the best colourist in the region.

Big Deal Hair received a whopping 26 per cent of votes out of 30 colourists nominated by Daily readers last week.

Owner Katie Martin said it was great to be recognised for her hard work after 16 years in the industry and 10 years building Big Deal Hair from the ground up.

"It was pretty amazing, I've been working hard for a long time trying to build my reputation," she said.

"I love what I do, so it's really nice to get that recognition."

Ms Martin and her colleagues at the salon specialise in blondes, colour correction and high fashion colours.

She said the best part of the job was changing people's perceptions of themselves.

"If your hair's not right, you don't feel right," she said. "I love it when they walk out the door going, 'Oh my God, I feel amazing'."

She said she wouldn't be where she was today without her "amazing" team of staff, including Jayde Agudo, Casey Robinson and Stephanie Noonan.

"It's a lot of word of mouth and putting in a lot of hours, and just being dedicated to the job," Ms Martin said.
