The owner of a cosmetic surgery has opened a luxurious Maroochydore clinic which offers spa treatments, acupuncture and wellness services to cater for the growing up-market clientele.
Aesthete’s swanky new site on Duporth Ave comes following a sharp rise in customers after the initial Covid-19 shutdowns in early 2020.
Registered nurse of 20 years Janette Irwin founded the business months prior to the pandemic after spending the past six years specialising in cosmetic injectables.
She centred her practice around providing high quality cosmetic procedures with longer format appointments and saw a more than 100 per cent rise in annual turnover post-lockdowns last year.
Ms Irwin said she noticed a demand among clients for wellness services that complement her work which prompted the move from Mooloolaba to a larger space.
“The power of cosmetic injectables feel good, but ethically and morally it’s about supporting clients and providing assistance in helping them with underlying issues that they might be dealing with,” Ms Irwin said.
“I saw the connection between cosmetic inject, the treatments we do and feeling good and building self-esteem and over the years that’s when I noticed there were people that were looking to these procedures to feel better about themselves on the inside but still had their own struggles in the background.
“So I thought it would be a good idea to bring in wellness aspects then can help people with their wellbeing and reach a better space mentally and provide a more holistic experience.”
Aesthete offers a range of cosmetic injection procedures including facial and lip dermal fillers, Botox, skin hydration, and collagen injections among others.
The business offers has a number of new skin and spa treatments and will also soon be introducing medical wellness services such as acupuncture and life coaching.
They also have a tasting platter menu for clients which includes food and beverages such as assorted cheeses and breads, fruit, wine and more.
Ms Irwin also plans to regularly bring in well-known medical and wellness professionals as guests for intensive sessions.
She has grown her team from four to six staff including another cosmetic injection nurse and is able to take on twice as many patients at the new location.
With Australia’s plastic surgery industry estimated to be worth more than $1b, Ms Irwin said she aims to be a one-stop shop for the growing market on the Sunshine Coast.
“Our point of difference is we work with the patient long term, our initial consultation is one and a half hours long, it’s a complex industry and has taken me 10 years to learn and get to where I am now,” Ms Irwin said.
“We’re really big about patient education, ongoing service and care and looking after them from a long term perspective - as I say to the clients you never stop ageing and the industry never has anything permanent.”
