An award-winning brewery beat 100 other bids to takeover an iconic Noosa Junction site following the closure of Cornerstone Pub and Kitchen.

4 Pines Brewing, which was established in Manly, New South Wales, more than a decade ago, will open at the Noosa Junction, following the opening of its Mooloolaba esplanade brewery in 2022.

4 Pines Noosa owner and operator Clayton Williams, who also owns the Duporth Tavern in Maroochydore and the Commercial Hotel in Nambour, said he was excited to bring the new space to life, having known previous owners.

“The focus for us is to bring a fresh, affordable, and welcoming offering and space to Noosa Junction. We will also look to bring a local entertainment schedule and a sports focused offer,” he said.

The venue is described as a laid back, coastal inspired space with a modern beer garden with banquette seats.

It will serve a selection of 4 Pines beers as well as wines, cocktails and spirits with a full-dining menu of pub classics, fresh bowls and local seafood.

Colliers Sunshine Coast realtor Jesse Howitt said 4 Pines Brewing had scored a 10-year lease at the “high profile” venue on the corner of Noosa Dr and Sunshine Beach Rd, Noosa Heads, formerly home to Cornerstone Pub and Kitchen.

Mr Howitt said the property, owned by Oz Property, received more than 100 inquiries from hospitality operators from across the country, including a businessman from Darwin.

He said the owners were looking for a new tenant with a fresh, modern offering.

Mr Howitt said the venue appealed to hospitality business owners because it sat on a valuable, corner spot and was one of the only pubs in the area.

The real estate agent said the venue boasted 284 sqm inside and 106 sqm outside, making it the largest food and beverage tenancy in Noosa Junction.

He added that Noosa Dr was starting to give Hastings St a run for its money, with tourists starting to enjoy their time along the lesser-known street.

4 Pines Brewing Noosa will officially open its doors on Wednesday April 5, with the first beers pouring from 12pm.
