Buderim Views residents went dotty over Naidoc Week

BUDERIM Views aged-care residents celebrated Naidoc Week by joining in and sharing Indigenous culture and traditions.

BUDERIM Views aged-care residents celebrated Naidoc Week by joining in and sharing Indigenous culture and traditions.

Recently, a teacher and two teacher aides from Chancellor State College gave up some time on their school holidays to teach the art of dot painting with the residents for a special art piece.

A spokesperson said that while the residents were a bit shy at first, the guests told some Aboriginal stories and bought some fudge with wattle seed to share.

The art work has been completed and the residents were very pleased with how it turned out. The piece has taken pride of place in the piano lounge.
