A motorcycle rider has been rushed to hospital with “significant” abdominal injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car on the Bruce Hwy southbound on the Sunshine Coast.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Corbould Park about 4.03pm on Thursday afternoon to reports of a car and motorcycle crash.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the rider, a man in his 50s, had been taken to the Sunshine Coast University in a stable condition but with “significant” abdominal injuries.

Delays are expected so motorists are advised to avoid the area.
