Two people have been taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on the Bruce Hwy at Palmview which closed two lanes of traffic.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 2.08pm on Thursday to reports of a multi-vehicle crash.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said five people were assessed at the scene, with two taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable conditons.

This included a woman with chest pain, who was taken by critical care paramedics, and a man in his 50s with no confirmed injuries.

An ambulance spokeswoman could not confirm the woman’s age. She said the man was taken in a separate vehicle.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the crash, just north of exit 190 near Caloundra, had closed the far right and middle lanes of the highway.
