A Sunshine Coast man has been charged over an alleged violent road rage incident where a traumatised young mother had her legs crushed by a ute.
Tia-Loketi Harvey, 26, of Kallangur, was driving on Yandina Coolum Rd, in Coolum Beach, about 5.30pm, December 22 when her life changed forever.
She was left with a gruesome leg injury and “mental trauma” after allegedly being run over in a horrifying ‘road rage’ incident which was captured on dashcam.
The viral video, which has had more than 257,000 plays on one Instagram account alone, shows Ms Harvey’s legs being crushed by the ute.
Ms Harvey was taken by ambulance to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and had surgery the next day.
She remains in a wheelchair and has been forced to move from her home in Coolum to stay with her mum at Kallangur.
Police have now charged Blair Johnathan Avery with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm following the incident.
The 42-year-old Sunshine Coast man has been issued a notice to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 7.
Anyone who may have relevant dash-camera footage or who may have witnessed the alleged altercation is asked to contact police.
