All Things Golf reveals plans for new driving range in the Sunshine Coast

An award-winning golf professional has revealed plans to convert a legendary $3m Sunshine Coast strawberry farm into a decked out driving range.

Plans for a 33-bay driving range, two-storey golf shop and extensive landscaping have been revealed for a block of former Sunshine Coast strawberry farmland on the Sunshine Coast.

The company, All Things Golf Pty Ltd submitted a development application to the Sunshine Coast Council on April 19, outlining its plans to develop about 5.9ha of a 10ha Palmview block into a driving range.

Three Sunshine Coast directors are behind the golf company, which was established in January this year, Toby Zaremba, Adam Norlander and James Brownsworth, according to Australian Securities and Investments Commission documents.

Mr Norlander is a familiar face among Sunshine Coast golfers, after being named the nation’s best club professional in 2018.

The planning report stated the driving range would include 33 driving bays, 28 of which would be undercover.

If approved, the development would also include a new golf pro shop, short game putting facility and a practice putting green.

“The two-storey building accommodating the existing onsite previous strawberry farm food and drink operations is proposed be maintained and co-used with the golf pro shop and amenities,” the report stated.

The report stated all of the buildings currently on the block, which were previously used in the running of the strawberry farm, were to stay intact if the development got the green light.

“Various structures accommodating an existing caretakers’ residence, food and drink shop and sheds along the southern property boundary all of which are proposed to be retained,’ the planning report stated.

The block at 133 Laxton Rd, Palmview, was previously used as a the commercial farm, Strawberry Fields, where visitors flocked to pick their own strawberries.

In 2020, the former owners, who had owned the farm for 40 years, announced their plans for retirement and listed the block on the market.

The land last sold for $3.75m in 2021, according to property data.
