An enigmatic retired AFL legend has been spotted dining out in Noosa over the public holiday long weekend.

New York Minute Burgers at Noosa Heads took to Instagram on Sunday to announce the presence of former Sydney Swans full forward Warwick Capper, who came to the local burger spot during the Labour Day long weekend.

“Come down to the Noosa Junction and meet an absolute AFL legend,” the burger joint’s Instagram story said.

“A genuine good bloke and entertainer.

“And you get to watch the replay of the Collingwood v Carlton game.”

Capper, with his spectacular marks, goal kicking prowess and iconic blonde long locks, is known for his antics on and off the field, making himself an Australian household name.

During his AFL career from 1983 to 1991, he kicked 388 goals over 124 games with the Sydney Swans and Brisbane Bears and almost clinched the Coleman Medal twice in his career, while also earning the Mark of the Year award in 1987.

Since his AFL retirement in the 1990s, the 60-year-old went on to regularly feature on television shows including the AFL Footy Show, Celebrity Big Brother and The Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

The colourful AFL figure also made an unsuccessful bid to be the mayor of the Gold Coast in 2007 and had his sights for state politics in the Gold Coast hinterland seat of Beaudesert. This however failed when he did not register for the election before the deadline.

Capper recently made headlines in Victoria, where he took ownership of a Melbourne brothel in late 2023, coinciding with Victoria gradually decriminalising sex work.

“The secret’s out. Warwick’s back in town, for all your needs,” he told Seven.

“We spent a couple hundred grand on the place and it looks brand new now.

“Bit like McDonalds. Let’s have a Big Mac – one with the lot. Tell ‘em Wizard Capper sent you, with the new teeth and the tight shorts.”

A year prior, the self described sex symbol told the Herald Sun he was too A-list for the raunchy online platform Only Fans, in an interview about him judging at the Australian Tattoo Expo in 2022.

“Not sure I’ve got the patience,’’ Capper said.

“Some of the girls are still C grade and I’m an A plus man. It’s a bit too risque for me.”
