AWARD-winning chef and restaurateur Tony Kelly has opened the doors to his newest restaurant at The Wharf Mooloolaba.

The new eatery Spero Greek Street offers an authentic Greek dining experience.

Mr Kelly (pictured) said he wanted to "create the type of family-owned beach-style restaurant you might find in Cofu Town".

The menu includes Greek favourites but also provides a selection to suit all palates.

Mr Kelly said he wanted to offer a dining experience that didn't have to cost a fortune, with the menu dishes ranging from $10 to $22.

Spero is a partnership with chef Mitch Smith and restaurant manager Elyza Molloy. Mr Kelly said Greek was the only choice when deciding what type of restaurant to launch.

The restaurant is the latest to open at The Wharf since its $10 million plus refurbishment started more than two years ago. Spero is open from 11.30am until late every day.
