$30m state-of-the-art Coast nursing home extension to open

A NEW $30 million Coast aged care wing is offering all the comforts of a luxury resort; including five-star dining, deluxe suites and water views.

A NEW $30 million Coast aged care wing is offering all the comforts of a luxury resort; including five-star dining, deluxe suites, water views and landscaped gardens.

TriCare is set to open the doors to its latest extension at Kawana Waters Aged Care Residence at a community open day on June 16.

TriCare Operations Manager Samantha Staite said the new extension raised the bar in aged care living and offered the latest in aged care accommodation and five-star hospitality.

"Our Kawana Waters Aged Care Residence has always experienced strong occupancy, with an ongoing demand for availability,” she said.

"With the addition of 80 new beds, we are making a positive step towards addressing the aged care needs of the Sunshine Coast community.”

There will be guided tours at the open day to showcase the aged care accommodation, amenities and technology.

Highlights of the community open day include interactive cooking demonstrations with in-house chefs and celebrity chef Alastair McLeod where guests will get a taste for the latest in TriCare hospitality along with a live painting exhibition with local artist Pam Walpole.

Visitors can also enjoy live music, drink free barista made coffee and sample food made by TriCare Kawana Waters in-house food services team.

TriCare owns and manages 15 residential aged care residences and nine retirement communities across Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

Features of the new $30 million wing include:

- Spacious rooms

- German designed and built automated bed and recliner

- Private ensuite with luxury fittings and fixtures

- Many rooms have waterfront views of the Mooloolah River or of the internal garden atrium

- Dining room and lounge area on each floor

- Outdoor terraces with water views and dining areas

- Additional services available to residents including cafe, hair salon and beauty therapy services and availability of Foxtel premium and standard entertainment packages

- Five star dining with fresh, nutritious meals designed and prepared by onsite chef, served in one of seven dining rooms or via room service

- Additional services offered to residents includes choice of Chef prepared meals, hot breakfast daily and wine and beer available with lunch and dinner, happy hour, weekly bus trips, daily newspapers and extended lifestyle program

- Internal water feature, tropical landscaped gardens and grounds
