Qld election 2024: Labor, LNP, Greens reveal pledges, promises in all 93 seats across state

With just days remaining until the state election, some of Queensland’s major parties have laid out their promises for each electorate — and a notable trend has emerged. SEE WHAT’S PROMISED FOR YOUR SEAT:

Queensland’s major parties have made hundreds of promises to try and woo voters in every electorate, with the state’s 17 marginal seats enjoying an extraordinary amount of incentives.

News Corp has collated all local promises Labor, the LNP and the Greens have made in Queensland’s 93 electorates, which were delivered by the campaigns themselves.

One Nation, which is the only other party running candidates in all seats, was invited to participate but did not provide their information in time for publication.

Laying out the commitments has revealed an unsurprising but still notable pattern: marginal electorates (with margins lower than six per cent) receive far more attention.

This explains why the ultra-contestable seat of Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast (held by the ALP by 2.5 per cent) has received more than 25 pledges from the three parties.

In comparison, the safe ALP seat of Stretton (13.9 per cent) was been completely ignored, with zero promises provided to News Corp.

Common pledges include road and intersection upgrades, school infrastructure, sporting facilities, environmental protection, hospital capital works, public housing construction and public transport upgrades.

More widespread policies and pledges, like stamp duty reform (LNP), free school lunches (Labor) and a promise of a state-owned lender (Greens) have not been included this list — you can check the parties’ general promise tracker here.
