One Nation has disendorsed its Chatsworth candidate Jasmine Harte after discovering she was accused of attempted murder 13 years ago, before the charges were later dropped.

But Ms Harte says she was up front with the party about her history before she was chosen to run for Queensland Parliament.

Ms Harte said the charges, along with the discovery of provocative and naked photographs of her online, led to her being dumped by the party.

She faced charges of attempted murder and acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm in 2011 following a drive-by shooting in Coorparoo where a man was shot in the stomach.

Police at the time accused Ms Harte of arranging to meet the man and procuring her boyfriend to shoot him over an alleged $1000 drug debt.

All charges against Ms Harte were later dropped.

Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party officially disendorsed Ms Harte on Wednesday due to “her past”.

Ms Harte has since spoken out about the sudden disendorsement, saying she bears no ill will against One Nation, instead blaming “dirty politics” for “using her old charge against her”.

“That (court case) was something I was tied up in and had nothing to do with, and I was unfortunately dragged into it,” she said.

“That could have been one of the main reasons I was disendorsed.

“It ruined my life and I was innocent in the whole thing and for it to now ruin my chances of having my voice heard.

“I have no hard feelings against One Nation, it’s the dirty politics of other parties for digging up dirt … holding my court charge against me.”

One Nation stated it would conduct an internal review over Ms Harte’s nomination process post-election.

It is understood she disclosed her history prior to being endorsed by the party.

“I’m not ashamed of my past,” Ms Harte told the Courier-Mail.

“So what I have a history, I’ve made mistakes and I’m willing to stand up now and make a change.”

An old profile on talent casting website Star Now shows provocative photos of Ms Harte, some naked, taken when she was in her late twenties working as a model and actor.

It is understood these photos also contributed to her disendorsement.

In a statement, One Nation declared it still “stands by its comprehensive vetting procedure” of election candidates.

“Ms Harte has been frank with us about her past and understands the reasons she has been disendorsed,” One Nation campaign director Damian Huxham said.

“All of our candidates are expected to meet high standards.

“We also expect high standards of the staff responsible for the implementation of our recruitment and vetting procedures.

“We’ll be taking appropriate action with those involved to ensure the highest standards continue to be met.”

While disheartened over no longer being able to run for state election as a One Nation candidate, Ms Harte believes she represents the majority of imperfect, hard working Aussies and refused to rule out a future career in politics as an independent.

“People might have more trust and faith in someone like myself to keep the politicians honest,” she said.

“I’m going to wait and see how it all goes, stay out of the limelight for a bit.”
