A teenage boy has been seriously injured after falling from his motorcycle near the Qld-NSW border.

NSW paramedics treated the 14-year-old boy for a head injury and a rescue helicopter has been tasked.

It is understood the incident occurred near the Bruxner Highway and Timbarra Rd, outside Tenterfield after 8am Sunday morning.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said the boy had fallen off his motorcycle and into a steel door.

NSW police were also called to the scene, with initial reports suggesting crash happened while he was riding on private property.

The boy was later flown to the Brisbane Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.
