Stanthorpe woman to face court after allegedly crashing while four times the legal limit in attempt to evade police

It was an unhappy start to the day for a young Stanthorpe woman who allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of more than four times the limit after crashing her car trying to avoid police. MORE HERE.

A 25-year-old Stanthorpe woman will front court over her early morning escapades that saw her allegedly crash her car while drunkenly attempting to evade police.

It’s understood officers were patrolling in a police vehicle along College Rd about 7.10am Wednesday morning when they saw a vehicle allegedly travelling at high speed.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle while it was travelling on College Rd, however lost sight of the vehicle.

A short time later police located the vehicle crashed at the intersection of Folkestone and Britannia streets, arresting the young female driver.

Police allege the young woman returned an alcohol reading of 0.203, more than four times the legal limit.

The 25-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected and for evading police.

Stanthorpe police are calling on any witnesses or anyone with CCTV footage of the incident or vehicle to come forward.
