Badge ceremony

WALLANGARRA State School held its badge ceremony recently at the School of Arts Hall with special guests Member for Southern Downs James Lister and SDRC councillor Marika McNichol, who presented badges to the students.

School captains, sporting captains, new students to the school and new preps all received school badges. School leaders are enthusiastic about the roles they have taken on and will certainly do a great job representing the school.

Thank you to all the parents who attended and supported the school and the students. Staff and students then enjoyed a wonderful morning tea provided by the parents. It is great to have the support of the school parents and the general community.

National Day Against Bullying and Violence

STUDENTS also participated in the National Day Against Bullying and Violence by having a crazy hair day and wearing different socks which emphasise that we are all different.

This was well supported with the older students making anti-bullying posters which were displayed around the school for all students to see.

Every day at Wallangarra School is a "No Bullying Day”. Staff talk to the students about what bullying actually is as sometimes this word is used too many times in the wrong context.

Cross-country

STUDENTS have begun training in earnest for the our cross-country, which will be held on Thursday, April 4 at the school. The course has been modified this year so no students will run on the road. Our fun run is also around the same time and students are now getting sponsors for this event as well.
