THIS year, Texas P-10 State School is consolidating a whole-school approach to the teaching of the Australian curriculum to promote even better academic results for the students of our school community.

Successful Learners: We are aligning, documenting and articulating practices to ensure all students have access to the Australian curriculum and can achieve success.

At Texas P-10 State School, children receive regular feedback on their progress while working towards achieving 12 months of growth for 12 months of input from teaching and learning.

High school Year 7 students Bridie B. and Molly C. are providing peer feedback to each other on their English assessment tasks for this term.

Experienced senior teacher Jane Lang provides Year 3 student Parker W. with verbal feedback to improve her understanding of the reading demands required for success within the English Australian curriculum.

In other news, a big congratulations to Leah S. and India C. who recently tried out in Gatton alongside 12 other Texas State School students for the Darling Downs swimming team.

These two girls made it into the team and will compete in Brisbane in the next couple of weeks.

Leah S. also came away with the title of age champion for 11 years.

The Student Representative Council held its first social event of the year.

Fantasy Land was a great success with students enjoying a dance and a movie.
