Strong focus on speaking skills
AT GREENLANDS, the development of skill in oral presentations is an important part of our school's English program.
The skill in presenting information, opinions and recounts is an important one for each individual in our society.
Students will need to develop these skills over a range of years in a variety of ways if they are to become confident adults.
That is why each term throughout the year, students in all year levels prepare, practice and present an oral presentation about a topic of their choosing.
This term's presentations have seen a variety of engaging and interesting topics including, Roald Dahl, chocolate, 3D printing, the NASA Clean Air Study, bobcats and much more.
Each presentation is filmed and students at the end of the schooling in Year 6, can view their progression throughout the years.
Playgroup ready to roll
A NEW Playgroup is ready to begin at Greenlands!
The Greenlands Playgroup will be held each Monday from 9-11am throughout the school terms for children aged 0-5.
The playgroup is affiliated with Playgroup Qld and is a friendly and inviting community based group providing a quality early years program.
Founded on the strengths-based playgroup model where parents stay, play and learn with their child, Play Steps playgroups are places for children and their families to practice learning skills in a nurturing, safe space within a school environment.
The first playgroup is on Monday, April 29.
