The South Burnett’s most affordable show will return to Wondai this weekend for its “biggest year yet”, jam-packed with fun for the whole family.

The Wondai Show at the Wondai Showgrounds on Baynes Street will kick off on Friday September 1 and continue into Saturday.

From an evening rodeo, to crowd favourite chainsaw racing, this year expects to see the largest turn out in the show’s history.

President Amanda Palmer said she expected more than 3000 guests to attend the grounds and enjoy the live music, bull riding, cattle showing, delicious food and more.

“This year is going to be the biggest one yet, we have so many new attractions,” Ms Palmer said.

“We have made this year a very family orientated event with greater showbags, dodgem cars, inflatable slides and tea cups to name a few,” she said.

The Wondai Show Society announced the show would feature motorbikes performing a jumping display for the crowd.

“They will be biking over one of our sponsor’s trucks, this is the first year we have had bikes like this for people to watch,” Ms Palmer said.

“We have received an astronomical amount of barrel racing entrees, which starts at 2.30pm on Saturday followed by the bull races at 6pm,” she said.

Livestock, dairy cattle showing and judging will be held on Saturday.

There will be a variety of activities to keep the children entertained such as face painting, an animal petting zoo, a fenced off entertainment area and engaging sessions held by the Rural Fire Service.

“Kids will be able to go into the fire trucks and see everything in this session,” Ms Palmer said.

Ms Palmer said the show society had more than 50 generous volunteers who have given their time to make this event special.
