WEDNESDAY'S storm battered the South Burnett with wind gusts of 119km/h in Kingaroy.

Weatherzone meteorologist Craig McIntosh confirmed this hit at 6.20pm along with 15mm of rain fall.

He said more storms were forecast to hit around 4pm today.

The South Burnett SES has been out responding to emergency calls since Sunday when the storms first hit.

Local SES Area Controller Arthur Dawson said most of Wednesday night's SES callouts dealt with fallen trees.

"A lot of the damage is on roads and main highways....we've got a lot of driveways blocked by trees. There's a lot of damage to the region,” he said.

"I'm at Elk Street North now and we still have no power. The power has been out since about 6.30pm Wednesday night.”

The SES also received serious calls about fallen power lines, crushed vehicles and partially missing roofs.

"We've got several houses that have lost sections of their roofs...we're slowly getting all those sorted,” he said.

"The Nanango caravan park opposite IGA has got a couple of cars and caravans under a tree...we're responding to that.

"We've got people that need pretty urgent assistance due to medical or other problems that we have to make sure they can get in and out of their driveway, or fix their house.”

Mr Dawson advised making sure there was nothing loose laying in the yard, speaking to a local arborist if concerned about trees close to the house or driveways and clearing gutters of leaves and debris to prevent water from flowing into houses.
