It’s set to be a massive weekend of events across the South and North Burnett regions, with stacks of fun and festivities lined up over the next few days.
From the Gayndah Show up north to the Nanango Show down south and more, there’s something for everyone in the South Burnett community this weekend.

Nanango Show
The excitement is palpable as one of the Burnett region’s biggest county shows kicks off.
The 113th annual Nanango Show is underway at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street, starting with showjumping and finishing up the first day with the annual rodeo at 7pm.
The main day of the show starts at 8.30am on Saturday and will bring with it a little something for everyone, starting with horse ring events, stud beef and prime cattle judging.
The Show will be officially opened at 12:30pm and finish with the incredible Heritage Fireworks Show at 7.30pm, followed by live music late into the night.
Admission to the show is $15 for adults or $10 for concessions.
Dinner Under the Stars
The Kingaroy Men’s Shed will be hosting their Dinner Under The Stars fundraiser at 3pm on Saturday.
The RACQ Lifeflight fundraiser will welcome guests from across the region to join in a night of fun and frivolity, including a starlit dinner, live music, whip cracking, raffles, and games for the little ones.
Tickets can be purchased online or from Kingaroy Office Central and cost $30 for adults, $10 for children (5-12), and $15 for teenagers (12-18). Admission is free for children under five.
Hungry stargazers heading to the event should bring their own table and chairs to Geoff Raph Drive, Kingaroy Airport, and don’t forget cash since there will be no EFTPOS.
Burnett Bands Together – Kingaroy
The Burnett Bands Together free music festival will finally take place on Saturday in Kingaroy Town Hall’s Glendon Street forecourt.
Six bands will take to the stage from 5pm till 11pm, including the Barambah Big Band, Rufus Jack, Ryza, Mudgarden, Mr Q and Soul Good.
People heading to the event, which is funded through the Regional Arts Services Network and Central Qld University, will enjoy a BBQ and cash bar run by Kingaroy’s Rotary and Lions Clubs.
Don’t forget to bring your own camp chair.
Kumbia Markets
The Kumbia Community Markets will be held at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 7am to noon.
The monthly markets will be chock full of delicious food, cool knick-knacks and live entertainment.
Murgon CBD Markets
The monthly Murgon Markets will return to Lamb Street from 7am till noon Sunday.
With something for everyone on offer, visitors can enjoy a wide selection of food, fresh produce and locally-made items.
Yarraman Wild Horse Campdraft
The Yarraman Wild Horse Campdraft will be held from 6am on Saturday to 3pm on Sunday at the Yarraman Showgrounds.
Saturday’s event will kick off with the Maiden Draft, followed by the open rounds, and then finals in the afternoon, before Sunday brings the Junior, Juvenile and Novice drafts.
Campsites are also available onsite, as well as a bar and canteen
Entry is free for spectators.
