A Murgon man was tragically killed after he was reportedly struck by a forklift at Parkside Timber in Wondai last week.

The man, aged in his 60s, was working at the North Street site when he was hit by the heavy machinery at 10.30am on March 28, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.

Paramedics rushed to save the critically injured man but he died at the scene.

Both the Forensic Crash Unit and Workplace Health and Safety are investigating.

The police spokeswoman said a report would be prepared for the Coroner.

A Workplace Health and Safety spokesman said an inspector and investigator were sent to the site.

Parkside Timber have been contacted for comment.
