Former South Burnett mung bean farmer Wayne Robert Green faced a committal hearing on multiple charges in the Murgon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, November 1.

The committal will continue in Kingaroy in early 2023.

Mr Green is charged with rape, sexual assault, seven counts of observation or recording in breach of privacy, three counts of procuring prostitution, deprivation of liberty, and six other offences.

Two charges have been dropped because the alleged victims were unable to be reached after leaving Australia.

In February 2021, Mr Green was committed to stand trial almost four years after allegedly raping an English backpacker who was working on his farm to secure her second year Australian visa.

The woman alleged that Mr Green told her to give him oral sex, and that ‘this was the f------ deal’.

The 51-year-old was charged by police in December 2021 with another 17 charges, including seven counts of observing or recording in breach of privacy, three counts of procuring prostitution, deprivation of liberty, and six other offences.

Police prosecutor Barry Stevens said Mr Green was committed to stand trial at the Kingaroy District Court.

“The court wants to hear the charges all together; these 17 charges will be married up with the rape charges,” Sergeant Stevens said.

“The witnesses from Scotland, Germany and England will appear via video link.

“They will be asked small amounts on agreed to topics,” he said.

Mr Green will appear before Murgon Magistrates Court for mention on November 17, 2022.

The committal hearing was adjourned to February 6, 2023, in the Kingaroy District Court, where seven witnesses will be cross examined.

Mr Green is currently on bail with the condition to not contact witnesses.

He sold his Mondure mung bean farm and now resides in Longreach.
