Serendipitous police visit finds $13,000 of drugs lying in ‘plain view’ on Burnett property
A South Burnett man will front court after a serendipitous police visit found $13,000 worth of cannabis lying in ‘plain view’.

Arriving at a Wooroonden property to seek help with a separate matter, police found more than they bargained for when they spotted $13,000 worth of cannabis sitting in an open shed.
Acting Senior Sergeant David Gillies said police visited the address with the intention of speaking to the occupant, who was a witness in a separate matter.
The man was not home, however in a “chance find” police spotted several bags containing four kilograms of cannabis, as well as drug utensils, sitting in plain view in the open shed.
The 46-year-old man was charged on Tuesday, June 22, and is due to face Murgon Magistrates Court on July 13, charged with drug possession.
Police are also still searching for a 34-year-old man in relation to the offence.
Officers are seeking public assistance for any information relating to drug dealing in the Wooroonden area.
