Police call for community vigilance after multiple incidents of rock throwing in South Burnett communities

Police are calling for the community to stay vigilant after an increase in report incidents of rock throwing in the Burnett. DETAILS:

Murgon and Cherbourg Police would like members of the public to remain vigilant as there has been a recent increase in calls for service regarding persons throwing rocks at buildings, cars and people.

On April 27, at 3.45pm, a vehicle was travelling along Broadway Street, Cherbourg when rocks were allegedly thrown at it.

A 13-year-old Cherbourg boy is scheduled to appear in the Murgon Children’s Court for endangering the safe use of a vehicle by throwing an object.

Then on May 10, at 8.30am, two boys threw rocks at a Wondai recreation area, causing damage to the amenities.

Investigations are continuing.

Police warned the consequences of such actions may include property damage and injury.

If you witness this activity, please take note of what the person/s are wearing, if they are saying anything while throwing rocks, a good description of your location, document any damage and report it to police.
