A young mother launched an unprovoked and shocking attack on a younger victim at a birthday party, after claiming the victim was talking about her.

Narkiya Clemanthus Doctor was at a house party for a birthday on November 23, when just after 10pm she became aggressive with the victim sitting across from her.

The 25-year-old asked the other woman, “what’s your problem?” and when the 22-year-old said nothing back and continued talking to another guest, Doctor said, “I know youse (sic) are talking about me”.

Despite being told no one was talking about her, the mother-of-five continued to become aggressive standing and declaring, “I’m not afraid to hit you”.

She then walked up to the seated victim and punched her multiple times in the head, only stopping when other guests intervened.

Prosecutor Sean Franklin told the Kingaroy Magistrates Court Doctor has a “significant criminal history for someone who’s 25 years of age” but noted she had not previously been convicted of violence.

He also described the attack as “gratuitous” violence that only ended when others intervened.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair urged Doctor to consider counselling to deal with her issues.

Doctor pleaded guilty to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.

She was placed on 18 months’ probation and ordered to pay $500 in compensation to the victim.
