A South Burnett father and son have faced a South Burnett court together amid allegations they committed more than two dozen offences between them.
Aaron and Cody Jenkins faced Kingaroy Magistrates Court one after the other on Wednesday April 30, with the court hearing they faced a combined 24 charges.
Cody Jenkins, 20, has been charged with two counts of committing a public nuisance, one count of wilful damage, four counts of stealing, one count of failing to appear, one count of contravening a police direction, one count of possessing used drug utensils or pipes, and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs in excess of an allowed amount.
Aaron Jenkins, 44, is facing several traffic charges as well as one count each of evading police, breaching bail, public nuisance and driving with drugs in his system, and three counts of stealing.
The court heard Cody Jenkins was expected to front a committal hearing on the drug charges but the proceedings have been delayed several times.
Police Prosecutor Lisa Manns said the two men’s matters were “a bit of a mess and they just keep accruing more and more” charges.
Their lawyer said Cody Jenkins would be pleading guilty to the majority of the allegations and asked for an adjournment as he had only recently taken on their cases.
Aaron Jenkins’ matter was also adjourned.
Both men will return to the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 30.
