Police have released a statement urging anyone with information to come forward after a man with a face covering threatened members of the public with a metal pole on Wednesday morning.
Police said at about 5am on Wednesday, a man described as “male, skinny, tall (5″11 or 180cm), First Nations appearance”, wearing long black pants and a towel or scarf across his face, allegedly approached two members of the public who were opening up a business on Macalister Street in Murgon.
The man allegedly yelled “aggressively” while holding a large stick and demanded keys, police said.
“The offender threw the stick on the ground and grabbed a metal pole.”
The two victims ran, leaving behind their business keys still in the door.
The offender allegedly removed the keys and tried to use them to open a vehicle before picking up a large rock and throwing it at the driver’s side window.
“The offender allegedly ran after one of the members of the public and then left the area,” police said.
Investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact police.
