Man facing 11 rape counts after investigation by Murgon detectives

A 41-year has been charged with 11 counts of rape after investigations by Murgon detectives into alleged sexual assaults over the past six years. Investigations are ongoing.

A 41-year has been charged with 11 counts of rape after investigations by Murgon detectives into multiple alleged sexual assaults over the past six years.

It will be alleged between September 2017 and January 2020, a 36-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a man who is known to her.

Between December 25, 2022, and February 26, 2023, a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and inappropriately touched by a man who is known to her.

Following investigations by Murgon detectives, a 41-year-old man was arrested at a property.

He has been charged with 11 counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, two counts of indecent treatment of children under 16 and one count of attempted indecent treatment of a child under 16.

He was denied police bail to appear at Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 19.
