Kingaroy man to front court after police uncover 20 marijuana plants, drugs

A man has been ordered to front court after an unrelated police visit quickly turned into a drug bust, with officers uncovering 20 marijuana plants around the Kingaroy property.

Police searched the Premier Drive home on March 23, allegedly spotting 17 marijuana plants perched on a drying rack.

Kingaroy officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant David Tierney said three more plants were found budding in a backyard vegetable garden, and a small amount of marijuana was uncovered in the bedroom.

A 37-year-old man was charged with producing and possessing dangerous drugs and is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 14.

Police searched a Doonkuna Street home in an unrelated raid the following day, where they found three large marijuana plants more than 2m high in the backyard.
