Crown prosecutor Tegan Little said the alleged offences occurred between October 9 and October 21 in 2018, in the South Burnett.

Mr Kapernick allegedly had sexual intercourse with the woman while she “cried and pleaded for him not to do it”, the court heard.

Ms Little told the court Kapernick told the woman that she “owed him”.

Jurors were told they could expect to hear evidence from several of the woman’s close friends and family who she told at the time.

The woman appeared via videolink on Monday.

The trial is expected to conclude on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
