Solicitor Mark Werner told the court the victim, who was known to Rossow, had walked back to his own home after a night of drinking, on March 11, 2023.

The victim was seen bashing the windows of his home, alleging Rossow was “f------ his wife”.

“The wife called Mr Rossow to come over, to prove to her husband that he was not inside the house with her,” Mr Werner said.

“Rossow came walking down the street and a 90-minute argument began between the victim and Mr Rossow.

“He kept yelling out that Mr Rossow was sleeping with his wife,” he said.

The court heard Rossow snapped after the continuing accusations and punched the victim twice in the face.

Mr Werner said the victim suffered facial cuts, bruises and required 13 stitches, and the impact of the punches had caused his glasses to smash into his face.

Rossow made immediate admissions to police when he was arrested later that night, the court was told.

Magistrate Andrew Sinclair said he understood there was ongoing friction between the two men.

“This resulted in you taking matters into your own hands,” Mr Sinclair said.

“I take your early plea of guilty into consideration,” he said.

Rossow was sentenced to six months jail with immediate parole, wholly suspended for 18 months.

Convictions were recorded.
