Nanango man watches as thieves steal his Mitsubishi Triton
A Nanango man has described the surreal moment he was enjoying a late evening stroll when he saw thieves tear off into the night in his beloved ute.

Nanango resident Dallas James Kelly was horrified to witness first hand the theft of his beloved white Mitsubishi Triton while he was out enjoying an evening stroll about 11pm on Tuesday, January 31.

He was walking along Wickham Street when he saw a familiar vehicle speeding and hooning down the road.
Mr Kelly, an oil extractor at Plenty Foods Kingaroy said he was on the phone to his mother when he spotted his car. He could not believe his eyes and immediately contacted police.

“While I was on the phone to (police) they came back past and turned down Brisbane Road,” he said.
“When the police arrived they took off doing about 120-150km/h.”
Mr Kelly has not been reunited with his ute and has received reports of sightings from the community after posting his unfortunate experience to social media.
“I have a $200 cash reward and 2 cartons of grog for anyone who can return it to me,” Mr Kelly said.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said police had been monitoring the car’s movements.
“It has been observed around midnight on January 31, on Brisbane Road in Nanango, on February 1 at approximately 10.30pm, where the vehicle evaded police, and February 3 in Nanango at 5.30am,” a spokeswoman said.
“No chase ensued and investigations are continuing,” she said.
