MURGON resident Kashaunica Stanley will be presenting medals at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April.

Miss Stanley has just returned from the Gold Coast after picking up her uniform.

"It was a real spur of the moment thing,” Miss Stanley said.

"I applied online, had a face to face interview on the Gold Coast, then I got an email saying I was successful and had gotten the volunteer position.

"Then I sent them my measurements for the custom uniform.

"I just picked it up.”

Miss Stanley will be a part of the volunteer team in the medal ceremony for the swimming and diving events.

"I've got about three roles,” Miss Stanley said.

"At the ceremonies I'll either be holding medals, escorting athletes on and off the playing field, or escorting VIP guests on and off the playing field.”

The practice dress rehearsal is on March 31.

Miss Stanley will volunteer at the Gold Coast until April 13.

"I'm excited. It's going to be a great opportunity,” Miss Stanley said.

"You know it's really a once in a lifetime thing.

"This is going to be something real special.”
