Mrs Lewis said she was a big advocate for women listening to their bodies.

“We were camping when the idea for a pilates studio came to my husband and I,” Mrs Lewis said.

“I’d always wanted to move back to the South Burnett for a change of pace and after seeing that there wasn’t anywhere similar that offers pilates, we made this dream a reality,” Mrs Lewis said.

The grand opening of Kingaroy's first fitness and wellness centre will be May 8.

The mum of three said she fell in love with pilates while she was recovering from an injury.

“I knew about pilates from when I was a dancer and how great it is for the body and spinal stability,” Mrs Lewis said.

“My physio recommended it when I injured my back and I started to become stronger and healthier,” she said.

The space is a taste of luxury where all visitors will be made to feel welcome, supported and safe.

Mrs Lewis said she wanted to provide an environment where her clients could change their health on all physical, mental and nutritional levels.

“I am really excited about meeting the community and connecting with them. I want to get them passionate about reformer pilates,” Mrs Lewis said.

“I will be teaching six classes per day from Monday to Friday and three classes on Saturday and Sunday.

“In our beautiful space we have an infrared sauna, delicious coffee and Australian herbal tea will be available.

“Regular sauna therapy can promote relaxation of muscles and joints helping to reduce tension and stress in the body,” she said.

Mrs Lewis said she could not wait to open her doors on May 8, 2023, with the support of her three teenage daughters and husband.
