Legendary Kingaroy fruit shop closes after 40 years
The owners of a beloved and iconic Kingaroy fresh produce store have revealed why they’re closing down after more than four decades of service.

Andersson’s Fruit Market in Kingaroy closed on Friday, after serving fresh produce to the community for more than 40 years.

Owner Dan Andersson announced his retirement to customers who regretted to hear the news and have thanked him for his many years of service.

The store was opened in 1980 by Ken Andersson who later passed ownership down to his son Dan.
The company confirmed its closure and thanked their “fruit family” for its support over the decades.
Anderssons was popular among locals, with residents taking to social media to reminisce and thank the owners.
South Burnett resident Bronwyn Marquardt she was sad to read the news of its closure.
“Your shop was always a kind of magical place, thank you for all your service and all the best for the future,” Ms Marquardt said.
Another user posted, “What a sad day to lose an iconic member of the Kingaroy fresh produce family”.
Burtons Shoes Kingaroy said, “Wishing you happiness in your new ventures. Thanks for your dedication to bring us the best fruit and veg over the years”.
