NANANGO is kicking off the South Burnett 2018 race season this Saturday.
Summer races call for a summer theme. The Nanango race club has encouraged racegoers to dress up in their best floral shirts, floppy hats, and floaty dresses.
A spot prize will awarded to the best dressed in the summery theme.
The themed best dressed prizes are sponsored by Moffatdale Wines.
The gates open at 11am. The first race is at 1pm.
The Nanango race club is offering a free ride to and from the races.
Courtesy buses leave Glendon St Kingaroy at noon, and 12.25pm from behind the Fitzroy hotel in Nanango.
Entry for adults is $10, $5 for seniors, and free for children under 15 years.
There will be plenty of undercover seating provided for those wishing to escape the harsh summer sun.
The race club has set up a cafe and barbecue for those country racegoers chasing a feed.
The bar also has something a bit fancier on offer with a separate champagne and wine bar open on the day.
For those who like a bet but don't always win there is now a Losing Ticket Box in the betting ring. At the end of the day there will be a draw and one losing better won't be a loser anymore.
