It has been a colourful year for South Burnett councillors and 2024 looks to be even more eventful with the local government elections looming in March.
Mayor Brett Otto announced he won’t be contesting the next election and has been absent for a large portion of the year due to health reasons.
Three councillors have stepped up and announced their run for Mayor including Cr Kathy Duff, Cr Kirstie Schumacher and Cr Gavin Jones (Deputy Mayor).
There was robust debate on multiple issues this year including the newly approved Tumuruu solar farm expected to begin construction in 2024, and the ongoing issues surrounding dog registration fees
We want to hear your thoughts on each councillor’s performance, as well as that of the council as a whole itself.
