A man has been rushed to hospital after sustaining injuries in a crash in the South Burnett region overnight.

Emergency service crews attended the scene on D’Aguilar Highway near Barkers Creek Flat after 7pm Tuesday evening.

A man was treated by paramedics for leg and neck injuries.

A spokesman for Queensland Fire Department said an initial investigation into the crash revealed the car hit an animal, which caused the single-vehicle crash.

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Kingaroy hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
