EASTER WEATHER: What to expect over the long weekend

THIS Easter the South Burnett can expect some showers and slightly cooler weather.

Weatherzone meteorologist Tom Hough said the temperature will drop to around 26 degrees, a bit below average for this time of the year.

"Good Friday will generally be pretty dry with a high of 27 degrees. It should be mostly sunny. It's going to be the nicest day this Easter weekend," Mr Hough said.

"Easter Saturday will again be mostly dry. Showers are expected closer to the coast for the beginning and middle of the day. Expect the odd shower in the late afternoon and overnight though.

"There will be light showers on and off in the morning on Good Sunday. They will become more frequent with heavier rain throughout the day and into the night."

Mr Hough said Monday would have lingering showers in the morning.

"It should clear up a bit through the day with an increase in temperature. But there will still be showers on and off through the day," Mr Hough said.

"It should clear up for a bit by Tuesday morning."
